Terms of Use

Effective: 3 September 2026

These Terms govern use of ZamaZama, a local lead-matching platform that helps buyers find nearby traders and service providers.

1. What ZamaZama does

ZamaZama is a lead-matching service. It is not the seller, supplier, employer, agent, guarantor, payment provider or party to a transaction between a buyer and a supplier unless ZamaZama expressly states otherwise for a particular service.

A buyer posts a request. ZamaZama may identify suppliers whose selected categories and service radius match the request. Suppliers decide whether to respond, and buyers decide who to deal with.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate information and use the platform only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials and connected Google account secure.

Where Google Sign-In is used, your Google account acts as an identity method for the ZamaZama account. A cellphone number remains necessary for marketplace contact. Users must keep that number accurate and under their control.

3. Buyer responsibilities

Buyers must:

  • describe requests honestly and with enough information for suppliers to understand what is needed;
  • provide a working contact number;
  • avoid unlawful, misleading, abusive or fraudulent requests;
  • not upload content they do not have the right to use; and
  • make their own decision about the suitability, price, safety and reliability of any supplier.

4. Supplier responsibilities

Suppliers must:

  • provide truthful business, category, service-radius and contact information;
  • use genuine business/location information and appropriate business photographs;
  • respond professionally and lawfully to buyer requests;
  • not misuse buyer contact details, send spam or use buyer information for unrelated marketing without appropriate consent;
  • not misrepresent qualifications, licences, stock, pricing or the ability to perform a service; and
  • comply with all laws, permits, professional requirements, consumer-protection obligations and tax obligations that apply to their activities.

5. Matching and availability

Matching is based on information available to the platform, including category, the buyer's current GPS or deliberately selected map point, supplier service radius and the buyer's selected travel/search radius. A supplier may match if its service area reaches the request point or if the supplier is inside the buyer's chosen radius. A map-selected area does not mean the buyer is physically there, and users must confirm delivery, collection and travel arrangements. ZamaZama does not guarantee that a particular request will produce a match, that a supplier will respond, that a buyer will proceed, or that a transaction will be completed.

The platform is designed to distribute qualifying leads fairly to suppliers who meet the applicable matching criteria. ZamaZama may change matching rules where reasonably necessary to improve reliability, security or marketplace quality.

6. Contact and notifications

ZamaZama may provide call and WhatsApp controls so marketplace participants can contact one another. Where the platform records that a supplier tapped a contact button, this means only that the button was tapped; it does not prove that a call connected, a message was delivered or the buyer responded.

Suppliers may receive matching-lead notifications through available channels such as WhatsApp or installed-app Web Push. Installed-app alerts require the supplier to grant notification permission on each supported device. Delivery, timing, vibration and sound depend on the device, operating system, browser, network and third-party push service and cannot be guaranteed.

7. Credits and paid features

ZamaZama may offer free leads, prepaid credits or other paid marketplace features. The price, quantity, expiry rules and use of credits will be displayed or communicated before purchase where applicable. Credits do not guarantee a sale, response or successful transaction; they provide access to the platform feature described at the time of use.

Where payment using Vodacom airtime is offered, each purchase is a once-off charge, not a subscription. The exact airtime charge and number of credits must be shown before confirmation. The person confirming the payment must be the bill-payer or have the bill-payer's permission. Promotional airtime, account eligibility and transaction limits remain subject to Vodacom's rules.

Credits are issued only after payment confirmation. Failed, cancelled or timed-out attempts do not earn credits. Refunds, reversals and disputed payments are handled under applicable law and the payment-provider rules; ZamaZama may reverse unused credits linked to a refunded or reversed transaction.

8. Transactions are between users

Any quotation, negotiation, payment, delivery, repair, service, warranty, refund or dispute arising from a buyer-supplier transaction is primarily between those users. Each party is responsible for carrying out appropriate checks before exchanging money, goods or services.

ZamaZama does not endorse a supplier merely because that supplier appears in a match or has an account on the platform.

9. Safety

Users should exercise ordinary caution when dealing with people they do not know, especially before meeting in person, allowing access to property, handing over goods, paying deposits or disclosing additional personal information. Suspected fraud, threats or unlawful conduct should be reported to the appropriate authorities and, where possible, to ZamaZama.

10. Prohibited use

You may not use ZamaZama to:

  • commit fraud, harassment, threats or unlawful discrimination;
  • offer or request illegal goods or services;
  • scrape, harvest, sell or misuse user information;
  • circumvent lead, credit, location, account or anti-abuse controls;
  • interfere with the platform, introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorised access;
  • create deceptive or duplicate accounts for abuse; or
  • use another person's identity or contact details without authority.

11. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant ZamaZama a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display, resize, transmit and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote or support the marketplace and its features.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content is lawful and does not infringe another person's privacy, intellectual property or other rights.

12. Account restriction or suspension

ZamaZama may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, abuse, security risks, unlawful conduct, repeated complaints, material breaches of these Terms or attempts to manipulate the marketplace.

13. Service availability and changes

ZamaZama may add, remove or change features as the platform develops. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, network failures, third-party services, security incidents or circumstances outside our control may affect availability.

14. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ZamaZama is not responsible for losses caused by the conduct, quality, pricing, representations, goods or services of independent buyers or suppliers, or by a user's decision to transact with another user.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits rights that a consumer has under applicable South African law.

15. Privacy

Use of personal information is governed by the ZamaZama Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any mandatory consumer or privacy rights available under South African law remain unaffected.

17. Changes to these Terms

ZamaZama may update these Terms as the marketplace develops. Material changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through the official ZamaZama support/contact channel published on the platform.
